NDHSAA Board Approves Academic Eligibility Amendment at Membership Meeting

The NDHSAA General Membership met at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in the Patterson Room of the Bismarck Ramkota Inn. Agenda items included opening remarks from Chairman Steve Hall, Canvassing Committee report of Class B NW and Class A West Representatives, and Executive Director’s Report.
State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler provided the Canvassing Committee report with the following representatives being elected to four-year terms:
Class A West: Mark Vollmer, Minot
Class B Northwest: Ben Schafer, Ray
Proposed amendments to the Constitution & By-Laws passed 117-7 and will be effective July 1, 2015:

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The University of North Dakota women's track and field team picked up several key performances in the field on Tuesday at the Cobber Twilight, headlined by four athletes placing within the top-three of their events.
Junior Alyssa Lueck (Walworth, Wis.) finished second in the discus with a personal-best launch of 156 feet, 6 inches (47.71 meters). Freshman Erin Harris (Sidney, Mont.) also recorded a top-two finish, taking second in the javelin with a toss of 124-07 (37.97).
Lueck took third in the shot put with a throw of 46-01.25 (14.05), which is another personal record. Freshman Katelyn Weber (St. Clair, Minn.) was seventh with a toss of 43-01.00 (13.13).
Sophomore Katarina Reller (Grand Forks, N.D.) led UND in the hammer throw with a third-place finish, hitting a mark of 169-06 (51.67). Senior Samantha Guenther (White Bear Lake, Minn.) placed seventh, while classmate Bethany Schultz (Rochester, Minn.) was just behind her in eighth. Molly Griep (Whitewater, Wis.), who is redshirting this season, finished second.
Junior Hailey Brinkman (Grey Eagle, Minn.) tied for fourth in the pole vault, clearing a mark of 10-06.75 (3.22). Harris was sixth with a clear of 10-00.75 (3.07).
UND returns to competition with split-squad action this Saturday, May 2, at the Lyle Hokanson Classic in Fargo, N.D., and the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, Calif.
